Taiwan and China agree to air ties

Detroit News.Net
Sunday 30th November, 2008

Taiwan and China will launch daily charter flights next month and introduce regular passenger and cargo flights in mid-2009.

China’s Central News Agency has said
Taiwanese and Chinese representatives will meet in Shanghai to sign an air control agreement for launching daily charter flights on Dec 15th.

Regular passenger and cargo flights are due to be launched across the Taiwan Strait under the air pact signed by Beijing and Taipei by mid-year.

Launching direct sea, air and trade links with China has been a policy of Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou, who won the March election on the platform of seeking peace with China and revitalizing Taiwan's economy.

Like they say, put the differences aside, let the future generation work for the solution. Meanwhile help the citizen live a better life through economic cooperation.
These are pragmatic leaderships.
