Woolworths suitors come out in force

Detroit News.Net
Sunday 30th November, 2008

The administrator for the British retailer Woolworths claims to have received many enquiries from companies who want parts of the business.

A spokesperson for the administrator, Deloitte, said he had been having talks with parties interested in buying both the retail and wholesale businesses of the failed retail giant.

It is believed property magnate Ardeshir Naghshineh, who owns 10 percent of the retailer, wants to make a bid to turn Woolworths into an employee-owned business.

The well known department store chain put its retail and distribution businesses into administration last Wednesday.
