Bangkok airport will be slow to re-start
Detroit News.Net Monday 1st December, 2008
It has been estimated that it will take at least a week to re-start Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi airport from the time demonstrators choose to leave.
Bangkok airport officials have said the work might take even longer if any of the airport's systems are damaged.
The Thai Department of Civil Aviation and airline representatives will have to make final checks before the Suvarnabhumi airport managers are able to get the airport functioning again.
The closure of the 125,000 passenger-a-day airport since last Tuesday has stranded thousands of foreign tourists and deprived the export-driven economy of billions of dollars.
The economic damage has been compounded by the closure by protesters of Bangkok's other airport, Don Muang, which is still an important domestic hub.

Arrivals into Bangkok
Not a chance unless your airline is offering evacuation flights out of U-Tapao airport near Pattaya and they allow you to take the flight INTO Thailand.
Call your airline.
