Edmonton Oilers defenseman Mike Green is expected to miss three to four weeks with a sprained MCL, the team announced Friday.
Green, who was acquired from the Detroit Red Wings prior to the trade deadline on Monday, was injured two days later in Edmonton's 3-0 loss to the Golden Knights in Las Vegas.
The 34-year-old did not record a point and registered a minus-2 rating in two games with the Oilers.
Green has three goals and eight assists in 50 games this season with the Red Wings and Oilers. A first-round pick by Washington in 2004, he has 501 points (150 goals, 351 assists) in 880 games with the Capitals (2005-15), Red Wings (2015-20) and Oilers.
The Oilers enter play on Friday in third place in the Pacific Division.
